Garlands!

I have finished a few felt ball garlands! I just listed them in my Esty shop :) I totally love them. The two garlands that have the smaller sized balls were all felted my myself by hand. The balls used for the larger garland were assembled my me and then I did the washing machine method to felt them. What do you guys think??

Evening Felt Fun

I used a different felting technique with my felted balls this evening. Instead of using a lot of my merino roving on the balls, I found some old wool yarn scarps and rolled them into mini skeins. After I made all the yarn balls I covered them with a thin layer of wool roving and put them into a stocking. I sectioned off each ball and then tossed them into the washing machine with a pair of pants (for agitation) on a hot/cold wash.

After a little while I got the stockings out of the wash and let them tumble in the dryer for a few minutes for a little more agitation and drying. I cut off each of the ties and took out my LOVELY felted balls! This is for sure my new preferred method. Because, honestly, rolling all those felt balls by hand really hurts after a while!

Felt Ball Love

I have been spending a little too much time these days (Not enough time, actually!!!! I could do it all day) sitting on the living room floor making felted balls :) I have been having some great ideas and finding some wonderful inspiration that have been getting my creative juices flowing! I can't keep up with all of my ideas, which is a really incredible feeling! So anyway, here are some photos and ideas that have been inspiring me lately :)

These felt ball trivets from The Purl Bee are to die for. These are for sure next on my list!

I have been making some Easter color inspired felt ball garlands much like this one. I have 2 almost finished and will be taking photos soon! They are so dreamy!

Check out this amazing necklace that I found on Etsy. All this artist's items are so yummy and inspiring!

Oh the possibilities are endless! What would you like to see made with felt balls?! My dream is to make a huge area rug made out of only felt balls! That would be fantastic.

New Gig

My vintage Pyrex got a new gig tonight..... earring modeling :)

Not too shabby, eh?

Mate Obsession!

While living in Germany I became an avid drinker of Mate :) (I guess over here in the states they call it Yerba Mate). I would drink it AT LEAST once a day! I would brew a big pot of it in the evenings and bottle it up and put it in the fridge to bring cold to language school everyday. Our friends from Paraguay would always have it around and drink it out of their gourd, which was pretty dang awesome :) While I dont have a cool gourd to drink it out of (although, I would LOVE one) I found some Mate yesterday, finally!!!!

I enjoyed mine this morning with a bit of milk and some Agave nectar.... bliss! Go try some for yourself!!

Heart Felt Update!

Wow, what a week! In the last week and a half I have sold almost HALF of my inventory! This morning I finished 3 more phone cozies (I went from 8 cozies to 2 in a week!) and will have them up tomorrow hopefully, but maybe not until Thursday. I also finished 5 new flowers today! 4 of the flowers feature vintage buttons in the center, super cute! Go check em' out on in the shop!
